Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Anotavis processes, what stays on your device, and what happens when you choose an online or AI-powered feature.

Local-first by default
Anotavis is designed around files and folders you choose. Markdown documents, images, settings, recent-file information, and other local workspace data remain on your device unless you deliberately use a feature that connects to an external service.
Anotavis does not sell personal information and does not include advertising, behavioral analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs in the current release.

Information processed on your device
Markdown documents, images, filenames, folder paths, and editor history needed to open and edit your workspace.
Application preferences such as theme, font size, selected model, recent files, and workspace state.
API keys and OAuth credentials for optional connected features. Native builds store secrets in the operating system secure storage when supported.
Removing the app, clearing its local storage, deleting a workspace, or disconnecting a provider removes the corresponding data under your control. Files stored outside the app remain where you saved them.

Optional AI features
AI assistance is optional. When you submit a request, Anotavis sends the prompt and relevant document context directly to the AI provider you selected so that provider can generate a response.
Supported providers may include Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic, depending on the platform and release configuration.
Provider processing, retention, account linkage, deletion, and model-training practices are governed by that provider’s terms and your provider account.
No document content is sent to an AI provider until you deliberately submit an AI request.

Connected services and remote content
Some Anotavis editions offer optional integrations such as GitHub, Google Drive, or YouTube. If you connect one of these services, Anotavis processes the account information, authorization tokens, repository or file metadata, and content required to perform the action you requested.
GitHub-connected workspaces may read repository files and write commits when you request synchronization.
Google services may process Drive files, YouTube data, and OAuth account details for enabled features.
Remote images, videos, and links embedded in a Markdown document may contact the referenced host when rendered or opened.
Connected services are optional and availability differs between the web, iOS, Android, and macOS releases.

Permissions
Anotavis requests only the permissions needed for a feature you choose, such as selecting files or folders, reading clipboard images, saving exported files, using network access for remote resources, or completing secure authentication.
You can revoke file, folder, account, or operating-system permissions through the relevant platform settings. Revoking permission may disable the related feature without affecting local editing that does not require it.

Retention, deletion, and security
Local data remains until you delete it, clear application storage, or uninstall the app. Data processed by an external provider follows that provider’s retention and deletion controls. Support reports submitted through GitHub remain subject to GitHub’s policies and the visibility of the channel you select.
Anotavis uses HTTPS for audited remote endpoints and secure platform storage for supported native secrets. No system can guarantee absolute security, so do not place credentials or highly sensitive content in public support reports.

Children and policy changes
Anotavis is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children under 13. We may update this policy as features, platforms, or legal requirements change. The revised date will be shown at the top of this page.
